Experiments

I was asked by the Chemist at work could I make any cake so I replied YES!! The Chemist placed a request for a Blueberry Lemonade Cake....so I can home and whipped up a butter batter from scratch added some lemon jello and frozen blueberries and baked in a bundt pan. Here is a picture before it went in the oven for baking.......

This is the picture after the kids started eating away at my invention.....

Hey what can I say....I guess that they like my new creation!

Oh by the way so did the Chemist at Work!!!!

Hello Kitty

So this weekend a family member requested a Hello Kitty Cake for her birthday and I must admit that this was my first attempt but once I got into the groove I decided to add something special so I made my first batch of Hello Kitty Cupcakes with the toppers created out of fondant.  The Hello Kitty Toppers were all free handed by myself. I must admit that this was very time consuming but worth the amazement of the Birthday Girl when she say her surprise. Here is a picture:

The Hello Kitty Cupcakes took me about an hour and a half to complete and then the next challenge that I faced was decorating the actual Hello Kitty Birthday Cake. I decided to grab a stool, have a seat and grabbed my laptop and put in a movie to watch as I began my journey of decorating one of my favorite characters....HELLO KITTY!! I completed decorating the cupcakes and cake by 3 am on Friday and it was worth the labor to see the joy on the Birthday Girl's Face.

And lastly I also included a batch of my Double Chocolate Cupcakes with Butter Flavored Butter Cream:

Happy Monday!

Hello Fellow Cakers!!!

Today is Manic Monday!! I feel like experimenting and making a sweet potato pound cake. I must admit that I have never made one or even heard of one before but I figure before this week is over that I should give it a try!
I will post pictures if I can create a recipe!!

WELCOME!!!

Welcome To My Blog Page!

This Blog was created to document my adventures on my new destination to becoming one of the Georgia's Well-Known Bakers. I work a full-time job and at night I moonlight as a Novice Pastry Chef in the comfort of my kitchen. I have worked in high stress level Corporate Positions and was never able to find a comfort zone except when I bake. The past few years has brought about many life changes for me and it was then that I re-kindled an old love and found a place of serenity to release stress and make sweet creations for others that would brighten their day with every bite taken out of one of my cupcakes, pound cakes or cookies.
